Job Description
Sunshein Podiatry Associates is looking for an experienced medical assistant to join our team. We just added a 2nd physician and this position is incredibly fast paced and physically demanding. The medical assistant will provide medical services to patients under the guidance of a physician. We are looking for the right candidate who is a team player and follows rules and protocols. The right candidate may be considered for a team leader position in the future.
The ideal person for this type of role is mature, a good listener, outgoing and compassionate, organized and adaptable and an excellent problem solver. This vital role greets our patients, displays professionalism, and maintains confidentiality at all times. This person must be able to handle stress and maintain composure in dealing with the public.
Responsibilities:
Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms
Prepping patients
Charting and scribing including taking history of present illness, past medical and social histories
Scheduling surgeries, MRIs, CT scans
Assisting with surgeries
Communicating with patients
Taking x-rays
Maintaining medical equipment
Managing inventory of medical supplies and durable medical equipment
Other tasks as assigned which could include administrative tasks
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Be able to handle a fast moving clinical practice
Be able to prioritize tasks to increase efficiency
Be able to learn new skills efficiently and effectively
Strong communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
Previous clinical experience is preferred
