Title: IT Specialist – Cybersecurity & Special ProgramsLocation: On-site – Sanford, FL (Travel to DeLand and local field sites required)DescriptionSolutions LLC is supporting their State Government customer on a mission-critical sustainment program to provide administrative and operational support of their Firewalls, Web Filtering, Server Administration, Security, Administration, and other special programs.
The Cybersecurity & Special Programs Specialist is responsible for supporting the client’s cybersecurity posture through proactive monitoring, incident tracking, and compliance efforts. This role also assists with specialized IT programs and pilot initiatives, ensuring secure configuration, stakeholder alignment, and compliance with regulatory frameworks including SLERS and CJIS.ResponsibilitiesCybersecurity Monitoring & Response
Monitor SIEM dashboards, event logs, and endpoint protection systems for anomalies or suspicious activity.
Perform triage and assist with escalation and response for potential security events.
Maintain incident records, remediation logs, and documentation for audit and reporting.
Implement endpoint security controls and user access restrictions in accordance with FDOT policies.Compliance & Risk Support
Enforce and support compliance with SLERS, CJIS, and NIST cybersecurity standards, including SP 800-53 and CSF alignment.
Support internal and external audits, access reviews, and vulnerability assessments.
Contribute to the development of POA&Ms and security documentation as part of risk mitigation efforts.Special Programs Administration
Serve as the technical point of contact for the operation, integration, and user support of FDOT special systems and field applications.
Administer or support the following key platforms:
Activu for video wall and visualization system control.
Road Ranger Mobile Application for service patrol dispatch.
iVDS for remote video and camera feed access.
SunGuide for Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS) and traffic management.
BlueMAC for Bluetooth data collection and analysis.
Maintenance Inventory Management System (MIMS) for dispatch and inventory
ITS Facility Management for field asset location and condition tracking
SCCM/SCOM for centralized server and workstation management.
SolarWinds for network and infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
Support integration and sustainment of third-party and proprietary software systems, including new systems introduced after the start of the contract.
Coordinate system upgrades, user access provisioning, and interdepartmental workflows related to supported programs.Program Coordination & Documentation
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and FDOT leadership to support lifecycle management of special programs.
Document system workflows, SOPs, test cases, and technical guides to ensure sustainability and auditability.
Develop user-facing materials, including training guides, test scripts, and technical documentation for pilot rollouts and new systems.
Track and reportthe status of technical tasks and special projects using collaboration platforms such as Jira or Confluence.Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be eligible for SLERS and CJIS background clearance.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, compliance, or secure IT project support.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with endpoint protection platforms, user access controls, and security log review.
Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional IT projects, including communication with stakeholders, documentation development, and task tracking
Working knowledge of CJIS Security Policy and NIST 800-53 control requirements, particularly in access control (AC), system integrity (SI), and configuration management (CM).
Familiarity with managing or supporting specialized systems or third-party applications in a government IT environment.Desired Skills
Familiarity with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and control implementation using NIST SP 800-53, especially related to access control, audit logging, and system integrity.
Experience supporting state or local government IT environments, particularly in transportation, public safety, or law enforcement contexts.
Ability to contribute to the development and remediation of POA&Ms (Plans of Action and Milestones) and coordinate security audit responses.
Strong written communication skills with experience drafting training guides, test scripts, and technical documentation for security operations or special projects.
Experience using collaboration and workflow tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, or equivalent for tracking access requests, documentation, or audit actions.
Working knowledge of Zero Trust principles, identity and access management (IAM), and audit trail validation.
Familiarity with operational technologies used in transportation systems, such as traffic monitoring platforms, infrastructure management tools, or mobile dispatch applications.Required EducationBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Desired Certifications
CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent industry-recognized cybersecurity credential.
DVMS NCP Practitioner or NCP 800-53 Specialist aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Project+, CAPM, or other project coordination certification relevant to managing IT initiatives.
ITIL® Foundation (v3 or v4) certification to support change control and service management alignment.
