Job Title: Senior Technical Business Analyst (Energy Trading & Risk Management)

Location-Type: Hybrid (4 days onsite in Houston, TX)

Start Date Is: ASAP

Duration: 9-month contract-to-hire

Compensation Range: $70-80/hr

Job Description:

Seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support energy trading and risk management initiatives. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to implement an energy platform, working alongside product owners, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer from consultants.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Product Owner to define and document requirements.

Translate business needs into user stories in Jira.

Collaborate with application development and scrum teams.

Shadow consultants (Oliver Wyman) and take over responsibilities.

Contribute to the sustainability-focused digital organization.

Lead discussions, communicate effectively, and present ideas confidently.

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in energy trading and risk management.

Strong technical BA skills with a background in renewable energy.

Deep understanding of the energy business and trading.

Experience implementing an energy platform.

Ability to work independently and command a room.

Bachelor's degree.

Ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience working in sustainability-related projects.

Prior work with application development and scrum teams.

Knowledge of Jira for requirements documentation.
