The Grinder Operator is responsible for daily setup and operation of centerless grinding machines to grind external or internal cylindrical or tapered surfaces of fiberglass composite workpieces to blueprint specifications. The associate in this role ensures precision, quality, and adherence to safety standards throughout the manufacturing process. Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities

Set up and operate centerless grinding machines (through-feed, in-feed, automatic feed, or end-feed) to produce parts to exact tolerances.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine part specifications.

Monitor the grinding process and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and part quality.

Inspect finished parts using measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Perform routing maintenance and cleaning to ensure equipment longevity and efficiency.

Maintain accurate production and quality records and complete required documentation.

Collaborate with production supervision, quality control, and engineering teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Comply with safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Training

High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).

Technical certification in machining or manufacturing processes preferred.

Knowledge & Experience

2+ years of experience operating centerless grinding machines in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.

Skills & Abilities

Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.

1st Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm EST
