The English Department at Georgian Court University is seeking adjunct instructors for the Fall 2025 semester. Instructors may be asked to teach the following course:

EN111 Academic Writing and Research I, the first-year writing course.

This course runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 80-minute periods each day, in sections meeting at 8AM, 9:30AM, and 11AM. Fall classes begin Tuesday, September 2nd. All courses meet in-person.

Essential Functions:

Teach one or more writing courses during the Fall 2025 semester (3 credits each).

Provide reasonable office hours for students.

Provide timely grading and feedback to students in Blackboard Learn.

Participate in Writing Program faculty meetings and professional development activities.

Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in English or Rhetoric/Composition

Evidence of teaching excellence in college-level composition courses.

Strong course evaluations and/or strong recommendations from supervisors.

Willingness to follow the department's writing course syllabi and assessment protocol

Experience with course management systems, such as Blackboard.

Experience addressing artificial intelligence in the composition classroom.

Willingness to complete Blackboard training program before classes begin.
