About the Role:
The HR Manager, Employee Relations & Post Employment, plays a critical role in fostering a positive workplace environment within the health care and social assistance industry. This position is responsible for managing employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and overseeing the post-employment processes, including unemployment claims and deferred compensation. The HR Manager will work closely with various departments to develop and implement effective performance management strategies and employee development programs. Additionally, this role will involve conducting internal investigations and addressing leave of absence requests to ensure fair treatment of all employees. Ultimately, the HR Manager will contribute to the overall success of the organization by promoting a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations or human resources management.
Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certification from a recognized HR organization (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
Experience in the health care and social assistance industry.
Responsibilities:
Manage and resolve employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
Oversee the unemployment claims process, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints and performance issues, documenting findings and recommending actions.
Develop and implement performance management and employee development programs to enhance workforce capabilities.
Skills:
The required skills in unemployment claims and employee relations are essential for navigating complex employee situations and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Knowledge of employment law is crucial for advising management on best practices and mitigating risks associated with employee grievances. Performance management skills are utilized to create effective evaluation systems that promote employee growth and accountability. Internal investigations require strong analytical and communication skills to gather information and present findings clearly
