Position purpose/core responsibilities
Preparation of parts in accordance to work orders on aerospace parts
Responsible for quality, on-time delivery, safety, and performance of assigned work
Main Duties
Follow Lean Manufacturing and 5s practices
Visually inspect parts prior to painting to identify failures and damage. Report all parts that appear damaged or incorrectly processed to Paint Shop Supervisor
Ensure parts to be painted are clear of dirt or foreign material, and clean them if necessary
Review work orders for missed processes and fill out/maintain paperwork
Prepare parts using tools such as sand paper, electric sander, etc. to achieve finish look of BB callout
Maintain knowledge of current specifications and call outs
Touching up and/or masking and unmasking of parts
Follow hazardous chemical and waste handling procedures
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly. This includes maintaining the area of the face where the respirator seals are clean and hair free
Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times
Must be able to read and interpret all MSDS sheets on all chemicals being used
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency

Maintain safe working practice's and insure area is clean and free of any possible unsafe situations
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
U.S. Person status required due to ITAR regulations
Six months to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skill in prioritizing and managing a fast paced work environment
Ability to use a computer for basic Microsoft Office functions (includes Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Skill in organizing, identifying, and recognizing differences or similarities
Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace

Physical requirements
Constantly stand and frequently walk and/or climb stairs to varying degrees at any time throughout the work day
Constantly use arms and hands to handle and reach 5-10 pound parts
Constantly grasp and utilize fine manipulation
Frequently able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (with help)
Frequently utilize repetitive motions in arms, shoulders, hand and fingers
Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
Frequent exposure to moderate noise
Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes
Frequent interaction with liquid, aerated and solid dangerous waste
Constantly wear eye protection and constantly wear gloves and/or face masks (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required). Painters must be clean-shaven daily in order to wear a respirator
