About The Role:

OluKai, a rapidly expanding brand that draws inspiration from island culture and lifestyle, is actively seeking a highly motivated UX Designer to join our Creative department at our Irvine, CA location.

As a UX Designer, you will own the innovation of OluKais brand across our websites and mobile applications, shaping a seamless and engaging digital shopping experience. We are looking for a user-experience (UX) designer who not only understands our business requirements and technical limitations but also deeply analyzes consumer behavior, shopping patterns, and decision-making processes. Your role will be to translate these insights into intuitive, easy-to-navigate designs that enhance discoverability, streamline conversions, and create a frictionless path to purchase. You will be responsible for conceiving and executing wireframes, mockups, and production-ready designs while ensuring the overall functionality is optimized for usability. Additionally, you will define key breakpoints based on application or device to deliver a cohesive and responsive experience across all touchpoints.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.

Facilitate the brands product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences for digital products.

Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and high-fidelity mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.

Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.

Produce digital assets for the site like: homepage banners, landing pages, as well as cropping images for product detail pages.

Analyze feedback and translate insights into design improvements.

Deliver a simple, easy to use shopping experience.

Develop mobile first UX for the Shopify Ecosystem using Figma or our theme.

Understand the limitation of Shopify Theme development and define breakpoints.

Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features.

Support the creation of design systems, ensuring consistency across digital products.

Test and iterate on designs based on data, feedback, and usability studies.

Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design.

Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the ecommerce user journey are consistent to brand standards and modern best practices for navigation, animation/hover states, readability.

Provide final sign-off and quality assurance for design and functionality updates.

Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.

Work with Creative, Ecommerce, and Digital Product team to develop new web and mobile app functionality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine user flows and enhance usability.

Collaborate with internal & external teams.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, preferably in a related discipline

5-7 years of UX design experience for ecommerce

Strong experience with Figma & Shopify

Good understanding of eCommerce, ADA Compliance, & UX best practices

Demonstrated ability to grasp technical requirements and marketing information to develop wireframes and prototypes

Understanding of Responsive Design as relates to device and application breakpoints

Extremely organized and highly motivated

Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment

Strong attention to detail, organization, and a collaborative mindset

Possess a portfolio of UX design work including user flows, wireframes, and UI Designs

Strong understanding of color theory anddesignprinciples

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with HTML5, CSS, & JavaScript experience

Experience with Shopify Theme Development

Experience with Mobile First Design Responsive Design

Experience with analyzing heat map tools (Microsoft Clarity)

Experience in testing responsive web design and cross-browser testing

Proficient in Agile Methodologies, experience with Asana is a Plus

Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
