Job Title: Laser Operator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal according to job specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and material requirements.
Select appropriate cutting programs and adjust machine settings to optimize cutting performance.
Load and unload materials onto the laser machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
Perform Daily/Weekly preventive maintenance on laser equipment
Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
Maintain neat, clean and orderly warehouse appearance.
Ability to work extended hours/overtime as needed
Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines.
Conform to all quality and safety procedures.
Required to operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Required Qualifications or Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment. Preferred but willing to train.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers. Preferred but willing to train.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility
Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach & carry.
