Great opportunity for a Corporate Credit Manager to join the corporate Finance team at a high tech software product company headquartered in MA located North of Boston. This Finance team is responsible for Treasury, Investor Relations, Capital Markets, Customer Credit, and Risk Management. This role will report to the VP, Corporate Finance and manage all aspects of the customer credit review, approval and monitoring process. This role involves close collaboration with various departments, including sales, sales operations, and accounting to ensure effective credit management and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Credit Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers through detailed financial analysis, credit bureau reports, and any other information available to assist with the risk assessment.
• Credit Policies: Implement and maintain the company's credit policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Credit Terms: Set and negotiate credit terms for clients, including payment plans and credit ceilings.
• Monitoring: Monitor existing credit accounts and manage the debts of creditors, ensuring timely collections and minimizing bad debt. Review reports on a weekly or monthly basis and take necessary action to bring customers back within company guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, aging reports, over credit limit reports, ship to reports, and evaluation reports.
• Reporting: Prepare and present reports on credit-related activities to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales, accounting, and other departments to resolve credit issues and optimize credit operations.
• Training: Provide training and guidance to the credit control team, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle credit management tasks.
Preferred Qualification/Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in corporate credit management, preferably within the technology sector.
• Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in credit risk analysis.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with credit-related laws and regulations, and experience with credit scoring models and financial software.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced Degree: MBA or other advanced degree in a related field.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or similar.
• Technical Skills: Experience with ERP systems and financial software used in credit management.
