We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) - Operations to lead the financial planning and analysis focused on PODS’ business operations. This is a highly strategic finance role, focused on driving business outcomes through robust financial modeling, insightful analysis, and proactive partnership. You will be instrumental in translating operational complexities into clear financial narratives, guiding strategic investments, and optimizing our financial performance.

This is a core finance position, requiring a deep understanding of business operations and the ability to influence decisions through financial acumen.

This role is required onsite at PODS headquarters in Clearwater, FL (Monday - Thursday onsite, Friday remote.)

Responsibilities:

Lead operational financial planning and analysis: Drive the comprehensive financial planning processes for the Operations division, including preparing and consolidating financial projections, operating metrics, and detailed variance analyses against budget and forecast.

Strategic Business Partner: Act as a key financial partner to operational leaders, providing critical financial support in developing and tracking strategic initiatives, and assisting in all strategic decision-making for the company, particularly concerning:

Truck Fleet Management: Develop financial models and insights for optimal truck fleet utilization, capital expenditures, and operational efficiency.

Driver Staffing Plans: Forecast driver staffing needs aligning with company order demand and optimizing associated labor costs.

Warehouse Management: Partner with Real Estate and Leasing teams to manage and optimize warehouse real estate expenses and related operational costs.

Performance Analysis & Reporting: Analyze the financial and operating results of the respective business unit, provide in-depth performance analysis and prepare aggregated presentations of financial and operating results for senior management. You will be a "financial storyteller," translating complex data into actionable insights with a strong emphasis on the business implications.

Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Prepare the annual budget and regular forecasts with a high degree of accuracy. Develop and maintain complex financial models, incorporating technical accounting expertise and detailed operational requirements. Predict long-term trends through the completion of five-year forecasts.

Initiative Tracking & ROI: Develop and track business initiatives aimed at improving financial performance, such as reducing fleet Repairs & Maintenance expenses. Lead or assist with ROI preparation and post-mortem analysis for key operational investments, consolidating lessons learned for future financial models and decision-making.

Problem Solving & Strategic Support: Solve complex and ambiguous business concerns, bringing structure and rigor through both quantitative financial analysis and qualitative decision-making. Provide financial support to business unit leaders to achieve business unit and corporate goals, including the development of corrective action plans and strategic investments.

Financial Stewardship: Provide assistance and guidance to the accounting team with monthly close responsibilities, acting as a financial steward within the operational teams.

Transformation & Process Improvement: Lead or assist with transformation initiatives within the finance organization, driving process improvement and automation where it enhances financial insight and efficiency.

Ad-hoc Analysis & Coaching: Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making. If in a manager role, manage others through coaching activities, performance management, and compensation reviews.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; MBA/CPA preferred.

Experience: 4-7 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or corporate finance, with a strong focus on operational finance or supply chain finance.

Financial Acumen: Demonstrated strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and corporate finance concepts. Proven ability to build, maintain, and interpret complex financial models.

Analytical Prowess: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify key financial drivers and trends.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate operational details into financial impacts and opportunities.

Software Proficiency: Advanced level Excel skills are required. Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, Adaptive Planning) is highly desirable.

Communication & Partnership: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial information and insights to non-finance stakeholders and executive leadership. Proven ability to be a strong business partner, influencing decisions through financial data and collaborative engagement.

Independent & Collaborative: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and a proactive approach to identifying financial opportunities and risks within operational contexts.
