The Sr. Accountant plays a vital role in reconciling our general ledger accounts. In this role you will handle a variety of Inventory & General Ledger responsibilities as well as the responsibility of providing organizational leaders with accurate, timely financial information for decision-making purposes. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate exceptional communication, collaboration and high level of service to support business needs, including working with internal stakeholders daily to resolve critical customer related needs. What you can do for us:
· Active role in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and GL analysis.
· Develop and maintain the company’s accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
· Work cross-functionally with Operations and Warehouse teams to support business processes, accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation.
· Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to inventory.
· Manage inventory valuation and assist in margin analysis.
· Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances.
· Establish cost of business processes such as administration, labor and shipping.
· Act as the finance lead for periodic physical inventory and monthly cycle counts; work with the operational resources responsible for these processes to assure timely and accurate financial reporting implications.
· Evaluate process deficiencies, formulate corrective action plans, and develop process improvements and/or procedural controls while leveraging systems and relationships with others within the organization.
· Knowledge of landed cost calculation and BOM set-up (a plus).
· Assist with special projects and research projects as assigned by management team.

Level of Education/Professional Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant major
· Minimum of 2+ years of inventory analysis, reconciliation, valuation and adjustment experience
Knowledge/Job Competencies:
· Must have wholesale or distribution industry experience
· A working knowledge of inventory cost flows and the related impact on financial statements highly desired
· Demonstrated ability to work with and resolve customer issues independently and also together with customer service departments, sales teams and other departments as well
· Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including ability to build and maintain excel models
· Experience working with high volume daily transactions
· Direct, hands-on ERP systems experience (QuickBooks and Sage X3 experience a plus)
· Experience in a fast paced, high growth environment a strong plus

Compensation
Starting annual salary: $90,000-100,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Full-time
