I. Job Summary:
• This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems that automate various aspects of the dairy industry equipment and process, including creation, optimization, and maintaining.
• The Automation Engineer will work closely with Maintenance team to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness, along with control work improvements improving current processes.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain automated systems for optimization, and keeping all automation ladder logic control systems for daily running and CIP (cleaning in place) systems.
• Design and implement new improvements by use of technical control work / systems.
• Work with maintenance manager and Director of Operations to understand their business needs and translate the needs into technical solutions.
• Monitor and analyze performance to identify areas for improvement and automation.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest automation and platform features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automated systems.
• Maintenance calls needing help with control issues.
• Developing a small group of automation engineers into an independent team of various shifts.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of automated systems.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong programming skills
• Experience with control systems, PLCs, software used for various control systems tied to machinery and machine learning CIP systems already in place.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field work in the business for multiple years performing automation control work.
. Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience with Semens, Allen Bradley, and Automation Direct controls.
• Experience with above testing and optimization strategies.
• Explain new processes you have implemented related control work.
