About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Float Provider, Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Health Care Services industry. As the Lead Float Provider, you will be responsible for providing primary care and psychiatry services to patients in the DOC. Your primary focus will be on Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and primary care utilizing your expertise to diagnose and treat patients with health conditions. You will work closely with other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the District of Columbia
Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician assistant
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Psychiatry
Dual Certification in Psychiatry and Primary care
Experience in Addiction Medicine (SUD)
Experience in intake evaluation for both Medical & Psychiatry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Experience working with diverse patient populations
Experience in a correctional healthcare setting
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorder.
Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis and treatment of primary health care conditions.
Lead a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance and fill in vacancies as needed
Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Stay current with developments in the field of Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and Primary care to incorporate new knowledge into patient care
Skills:
As the Lead Float Provider, you will utilize your expertise in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and Primary care to diagnose and treat patients with health conditions. This position is for highly qualified PA/NP who is double certified in Psychiatry and Primary care with knowledge in SUD (Addiction Medicine) who will also train, supervise and fill-in for APPs working in those specialties. This position will be assigned to all clinical service areas including inpatient-infirmary, Urgent Care, CCB, chronic care, psych, SUD and at intakes for comprehensive initiation of SUD, Psych & medical treatment. You will also use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with other healthcare providers and lead a team of healthcare professionals. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in providing exceptional patient care. Additionally, your experience in a leadership or supervisory role, as well as your experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and with diverse patient populations, will be beneficial in this role.
