Position: Systems Engineer (Level I)

Telework: Hybrid remote/onsite, with typical set schedule at Government facility.

XSITE LLC is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in San Diego, California.
We are Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned company headquartered in San Diego. We provide full spectrum systems and systems-of-systems engineering and integration services and solutions for space, C5ISR, cyber and enterprise information systems.
We are transitioning over to a sustainment work effort in support of the Modeling and Simulation Tool (MST) for the MUOS Performance Model. Our client is U.S. Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC).
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Ability to apply a comprehensive system engineering process that follows the Space Systems Command (SSC) Standard System Engineering Requirements and Products
Work to develop and maintain a Systems Engineering process and Management Plan (SEMP)
Ability to build and assess systems engineering and architecture models using a modeling methodology to conduct technical assessments that inform key technical decisions
Shall document the architectural products, including the applicable operational and systems views referencing current DOD Architecture Framework guidance and approaches.
Ability to perform system integration, to include an integration strategy, a verification/validation plan, and documentation on integration points and data migration strategy
Ability to solve technical problems independently, follow through on assigned tasks, and manage time efficiently
Shall provide subject matter expert (SME) support in the analysis of input data and the models output data
Maintain operational manuals, maintenance technical manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Provide Technical Assistance to MST users
Shall work with the Government Cloud Infrastructure provider to ensure connectivity is sustainable
Ensure the current operational release of the MST software is maintained and fully operational in the cloud instantiation.
Conduct MST training and maintain training documentation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related field
0 to 3 years of experience in system engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related disciplines
Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, Sparx)
Experience with modeling tools (e.g., STK, AFSIM, Matlab/Simulink)
Agile process experience and related tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
Active CompTIA Security+ CE
Experience in a DoD environment and model-based systems engineering
Experience with Azure DevOps
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, HTML, SQL
Knowledge of Software Development process (including promotion) within Government networks
Knowledge of systems architecture and systems design and development. Understanding of modern systems engineering methods
Excellent technical writing and editing skills, excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
