SUMMARY: The General Cleaner provides the basic level of cleanliness required to meet the standards provided in the contract.

DUTIES: The General Cleaner is responsible for thorough detail cleaning using various chemicals and procedures as directed by management. The General Cleaner is directly responsible for his/her own safety and must use all safety precautions to perform his/her tasks without committing any safety violations. The General Cleaner is responsible for reporting to the supervisor any conditions that adversely affects the operation of assigned areas. The work consists of complete cleaning and sanitization of all required areas such as: ceilings, walls, floors and other surfaces, including general routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, halls, loading docks and other areas within the assigned buildings. In addition, all cleaning and work performed must be documented. The employee may be requested to attend meetings held by management.

Essential Functions:

- Vacuum floors, carpets, and rugs

- Clean restrooms

- Sweep or dust mop floors

- Mop floors

- Pull and transport trash

- Wipe cabinets

- Dust vents, blinds, and window ledges

- Clean loading docks

- Sort materials for recycle program

- Clean furniture, reset chairs to original position

- Clean glass up to hand height

- Clean offices, lobby, breakrooms, hallways, restrooms, classrooms, conference rooms

- Empty exterior trashcans, butt cans, sweep outside entrances

Marginal Functions:

-Performs other related duties as required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $11.83 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires active, physical labor. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds without assistance. Must be able to work a full eight-hour shift given the required breaks and meal break. Must be able to read English and follow directions regarding work direction and safety instruction.
