This position is a new addition to a rapidly growing and dynamic team, driven by our client's recent promotion and overall rapid growth seen company wide. We are looking for a Senior Controller to lead a robust Property Accounting group and ensure the continued success and efficiency of accounting operations through Yardi system optimization, automation and building complex financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Property Accounting Group: Manage and mentor a team of 10+ accountants, providing leadership and guidance in the development and execution of accounting functions.

Property Onboarding/Offboarding: Oversee the onboarding and offboarding of properties, ensuring accurate financials and smooth transitions.

Month-End Close: Establish, oversee, and optimize the month-end close process, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet accounts, and all relevant reporting.

Policy & Procedure Development: Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency across the accounting team.

Tenant and Portfolio Management: Manage high-volume portfolios, primarily focusing on commercial and industrial properties (warehouses with 1-2 tenants per property), ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Yardi Expertise: Leverage Yardi to manage property financials, ensuring efficient reporting and data management across all properties.

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations for management and stakeholders, providing insights into property performance and financial health.

Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, asset managers, and other departments to ensure alignment and provide insights into financial performance and asset strategy.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in property accounting, with a strong focus on commercial and industrial properties/portfolios

Proven experience leading and managing accounting teams of 3+ professionals

Deep understanding of property accounting principles, with specific emphasis on warehouses, commercial properties, and industrial real estate

Yardi expertiseis a must

Strong experience with month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet management

Demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and develop a team

Ability to handle high-volume property portfolios, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
