Rhino Security Services, is a privately held security company that was designed to provide protective services of the grounds, property and residents in the communities in which it serves. Our clientele typically is located in the Urban markets in which we have developed and built viable and sustainable mixed income living environments.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Security officer is responsible for conducting watchperson rounds of residential buildings and areas to ensure the safety and security of the communities, and its residents. Security officers will be accountable for performing vehicle and foot patrols in all weather conditions and temperatures. Our Security officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and resident rule violations. This includes reporting suspicious activity, persons and conditions immediately, providing general assistance to residents and visitors, monitoring closed circuit television systems, alarms and other very important facility systems.
The right candidate for this position should have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, in order to interact with a diverse community. The person in this positon must have the ability to remain calm in difficult, and high stress emergency situations and to deal politely and courteously with all residents. This role requires flexible shift schedule/hours and continuation of regular tour of duty. Candidates must be able to pass an extensive background investigation.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
· Ensure the communities are provided with high quality security services to protect people and property.
· Build, improve, and maintain effective relationships with employees, residents, and guests.
· Patrol communities on foot and in a vehicle.
· Monitor closed-circuit television systems and alarms.
· Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
· Fully embrace security/safety training programs to enhance your ability to advance in your careers and offer our residents the best-trained officers at their sites.
· Be aware of and familiar with the site-specific operations performance manual and post orders.
· You may be required to take additional certification training, such as becoming certified to carry OC sprays, ride bicycles, etc.
Requirements:
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATATIONS, AND CLERANCES
· OPOTA 20-hour firearms certification
· CCW permit
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have a high school diploma or GED
· Previous contract security, military or law enforcement experience is beneficial
· Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills required.
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
· Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.
· Friendly and professional demeanor.
· Ability to handle typical security patrolling and crises efficiently and effectively at residential communities.
