Job Summary

The Junior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions to support the hospital's IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with senior engineers to ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud systems. You will also join in the hospital-wide effort to modernize all tech stacks.

Essential Functions

Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology,

Assist in the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure high availability and performance.

Implement the best security practices to protect sensitive patient data and comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing hospital systems.

Maintain documentation of cloud architecture and procedures.

Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends.

Apply software engineering principles to develop in-house platforms (e.g. staff messaging, CRM, etc.)

Take ownership of projects and have the insight to move forward with sufficient internal drive.

Architect novel cloud-based solutions to modernize our existing on-premises technology.

Requirements:

Experience

Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure.

Familiarity with cloud security principles and best practices.

Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.

Familiarity with healthcare-related regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Licensure/Certifications

Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals).
