Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and driven Production Supervisor to lead operations in a precision manufacturing facility serving the medical device, military, and commercial aerospace industries. The ideal candidate will oversee production involving CNC Swiss Screw Machines, Milling Centers, and CNC Lathes, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances, regulatory requirements, and quality standards expected in these critical industries.Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise daily activities of machinists and production personnel across multiple shifts.

Oversee efficient setup and operation of CNC Swiss-type machines (e.g., Citizen, Star), as well as vertical/horizontal milling and turning centers.

Ensure production meets regulatory and quality standards such as ISO 13485, AS9100, and ISO 9001 compliance.

Support production planning by coordinating with scheduling, engineering, and quality teams to meet delivery, cost, and quality goals.

Monitor job travelers, blueprints, and control plans to ensure parts meet specifications and customer requirements.

Identify and resolve production issues, including minor machine troubleshooting and root cause analysis of scrap or rework.

Train operators on machining techniques, safety, and quality procedures specific to medical and aerospace components.

Drive continuous improvement efforts in line with lean manufacturing, 5S, and process efficiency.

Track and report key metrics such as on-time delivery, OEE, first-pass yield, and nonconformance rates.

Enforce safety policies, PPE use, and cleanroom or contamination control practices when required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or technical certificate in machining or manufacturing strongly preferred.

5+ years in a CNC machining environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role.

Proven experience with tight-tolerance machining for regulated industries (medical implants/instruments, aerospace components, defense parts).

Strong technical knowledge of CNC Swiss screw machining, multi-axis milling, and lathe operations.

Ability to interpret GD&T, engineering drawings, process documentation, and customer specifications.

Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and documentation protocols.

Comfortable using SAP systems

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working in environments certified to ISO 13485, AS9100, or ISO 9001.

Working knowledge of G-code, CNC program edits, and setup reduction strategies.

Proficient in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparators, or CMMs.

Background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or kaizen events.

Typical Physical Requirements:

1. Mobility & Movement:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 6–10 hours per shift).

Frequent movement throughout the production floor.

Occasional climbing, bending, kneeling, or crouching.

2. Lifting & Carrying:

Ability to lift and carry items typically up to 25–50 pounds (tools, parts, materials).

Occasionally lift heavier items with assistance or mechanical support.

3. Manual Dexterity:

Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate machinery, or inspect parts.

Ability to write, type, and handle detailed paperwork.

4. Environmental Conditions:

Tolerance for noise, heat, dust, and exposure to oils or other industrial materials.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves.

5. Endurance:

Ability to handle stress and physical exertion in a fast-paced production environment.

Flexibility to work overtime or irregular shifts if necessary.
