Job Description
As a Scrum Master at Tek Spikes, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our development teams to deliver high-quality software projects in a collaborative agile environment. You will facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, remove obstacles, and coach team members on Scrum principles to ensure continuous improvement and productivity. Your strong communication skills and leadership qualities will help foster a culture of transparency and accountability within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure effective team collaboration and communication.
Support the product owner in maintaining the product backlog and prioritizing work items based on business value.
Remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress and provide solutions to challenges that arise.
Coach team members on Agile principles and Scrum practices to enhance their understanding and effectiveness.
Monitor and report on progress and metrics, providing visibility to stakeholders regarding team performance.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular feedback and open communication.
Promote self-organization and accountability within the team by encouraging ownership of tasks and projects.
Engage with other Scrum Masters and agile coaches across the organization to align on best practices and methodologies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification required.
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and understanding of Agile principles.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills with proven experience leading teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) is preferred.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in scaling Agile practices in larger organizations is a plus.
- Knowledge of other methodologies like Kanban or Lean is beneficial.
