Position Summary:
Acts as primary sales representative for all lumber and building materials sold. Maintaining and developing existing and new customers for sales. Offering solutions and educating customers regarding new and updated products.
Position Responsibilities:
Generate new leads through various channels, including cold calls, networking events, referrals, and permit tracking services.
Conduct value-added product presentations and demonstrations for existing and potential clients.
Promote and sell building materials to existing and potential customers to achieve company goals.
Understand blueprints and phases of project construction.
Prepare and deliver sales proposals and quotations that will increase market share.
Negotiate and close sales deals.
Collaborate with sales coordinators and other internal departments to provide best-in-class customer experiences for on-time and accurate delivery of products.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues (open orders, credits, returns, vendor errors, etc.) in a timely manner.
Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
All other duties as assigned or requested.Requirements:
Education/Formal Training:
· High School Diploma/GED required. Associate degree or higher is preferred.
· Valid NC Class C Driver License and reliable transportation
Work Experience/Skills:
· Proven track record in outside sales, preferably in the lumber & building materials industry.
· Strong internal and external communication and negotiation skills.
· Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
· Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
Physical Demands:
· Normal office working conditions and customer job/construction sites
· Frequent Travel
