Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and adaptable Medical Assistant to join our team in a hybrid front desk and clinical role. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, patient-focused, and eager to grow in both administrative and clinical areas. The role includes insurance verification, front desk responsibilities, and basic clinical support, such as rooming patients, recording vitals, and assisting with procedures. Phlebotomy experience is a plus, but we are willing to train.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk / Insurance Verification:
Greet and check-in patients with professionalism and warmth
Verify insurance eligibility and coverage before appointments
Collect co-pays, update patient demographics, and answer billing questions
Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls/messages
Maintain accurate records and support smooth patient flow
Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
Clinical Support:
Room patients and document the reason for visit/chief complaint
Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
Collect a brief patient history for provider review
Assist providers with basic procedures and patient care
Perform or learn phlebotomy (blood draws) and handle lab specimens
Maintain clean and fully stocked exam rooms
Follow infection control and safety protocols
Cross-Training Expectation:
Must be willing and able to rotate between front desk and clinical responsibilities
Flexibility to support various needs of the clinic each day
Work collaboratively with all clinic staff in a fast-paced environmentRequirements:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a Medical Assistant program strongly preferred
Front desk and insurance verification experience required
Clinical experience (rooming, vitals, assisting) preferred
Phlebotomy certification a plus—or must be willing to learn
Excellent communication and multitasking skills
Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks)
Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
