The Marketing Specialist serves as an advisor to departments and stakeholders in the Office of Student Life to design, develop and implement marketing

programs. This includes developing strategies that support Student Life operations, programs, services and departments, serving as a primary marketing point of contact for designated departments, and consulting on marketing strategies. The Marketing Specialist also plans and implements marketing plans to meet strategic goals, reach target audiences, raise awareness and ensure alignment with university branding. Tracks and monitors marketing projects to ensure timely and effective completion and success, and consults with design/creative team when necessary. Plans and coordinates marketing material and ideas to meet goals, educate and communicate departmental offerings. Educates support areas on university and Student Life brand standards. Manages departmental calendar to ensure programs and events are communicated and effectively promoted. Identifies necessary updates for websites.

This role requires general industry knowledge and professional experience in the application of marketing and communications concepts, principals, and

technical capabilities to perform varied tasks. Works on marketing projects of moderate scope and complexity, and applies judgment within defined parameters. Receives general guidance and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects. Work is reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field or equivalent experience

2 years of relevant marketing and communications experience

client management experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired:

At least 2-4 years of relevant marketing and communications experience

Experience supporting student programming and events

Experience with strategic and long-range planning

Higher education experience

Additional Information:

Job Profile Pay Range

$51,000.00 - 67,000.00

Offers made within this pay range will be based on candidate's qualifications as well as available budget and internal equity.
