Job Title: Senior Database Administrator
Place of Performance: Swan Street Building, Core 3, 1st Floor, Room 124, Albany, NY 12228 (Hybrid – up to 50% telecommute)
Minimum Experience: 60+ months of Oracle database administration and patching experience, including RAC, ASM, and PowerHA/HACMP environments
Rate: $45/hr – $60/hr
Employment Type: Contract on W2
Duration: 30 Months
Position Overview:
GD Resources is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to support Oracle database environments within a large-scale IT infrastructure. This role involves hands-on installation, patching, and maintenance of Oracle software, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational stability. Candidates must be comfortable working during early morning shifts and occasionally during nights or weekends for critical maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database software across a multi-server enterprise environment
Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution of complex Oracle-related issues
Support databases on IBM AIX with RAC, PowerHA, ASM, Data Guard, and Enterprise Manager
Perform database migrations from legacy data centers
Work independently and as part of a team to support a large infrastructure comprising over 450 servers and 2,500+ databases
Maintain system reliability, performance, and security standards aligned with IRS and regulatory requirements
Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotations and scheduled maintenance tasks outside of standard business hours
Utilize and maintain detailed documentation on all Oracle configurations, procedures, and protocols
Qualifications:
60+ months of experience administering Oracle Databases version 11gR2 and above, including installation, Patch Set Updates, and ASM
24+ months of experience with Oracle 12c software installation and patching
24+ months of experience installing Oracle software on IBM PowerHA / HACMP clusters
6+ months of experience supporting Oracle Database 19c
60+ months of experience with Data Guard administration (11g and above)
Certifications Required:
Oracle Certified Professional – Oracle Database 11g Administrator
Oracle Certified Expert – Oracle RAC 11g and Grid Infrastructure Administrator
Oracle Certified Specialist – Oracle Exadata 11g Implementation
Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Applications DBA Certified Professional
