About the Team

Join our communications team to learn the ins and outs of delivering impactful messages to a global audience. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with content creation, media relations, and messaging strategies that drive IAAPA’s communications efforts. Your work will directly support IAAPA’s mission to inspire and connect attractions professionals around the world.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an intern who is passionate about communications and eager to gain practical experience in a global organization. You will assist in writing and editing content, drafting press releases, and supporting various internal and external communications projects to help IAAPA expand awareness.

Title: Communications Intern

Office/Department: IAAPA Headquarters, Orlando, Florida

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Global Communications Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with writing and editing content for press releases, media inquiries, and social media posts.

Support in drafting communications materials related to IAAPA events, programs, and initiatives.

Help with media outreach and tracking coverage of IAAPA in industry publications.

Collaborate with team members to ensure messaging is aligned with IAAPA's mission and strategic goals.

Monitor industry news and trends to identify opportunities for IAAPA to share its expertise and voice.

Provide general communications support for IAAPA’s global outreach and internal communications initiatives.

Qualifications:

Current student or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

Strong writing and editing skills, with an attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Familiarity with media relations, press releases, and public relations best practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.

Experience in graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CapCut or similar.

A passion for storytelling and the ability to craft compelling content.

Ability to work onsite in Orlando, FL.
