Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Quality Engineer Automation opening for our client in Reston, VA.

Location: Reston, VA (hybrid remote)

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

Develop and execute automated test scripts using Java-based libraries and Python for in-house AWS-based applications.

Design and implement robust, scalable test frameworks to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

Perform performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.

Create and maintain automated tests for REST APIs and back-end services.

Collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to ensure alignment with Business Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.

Investigate test failures, identify bugs, and contribute to resolution in a timely manner.

Monitor and improve test coverage across 60% Python and 40% Java codebases.

Participate in Agile development processes and provide quality metrics to stakeholders.

Skills:

Strong proficiency in Python and Java for test automation.

Hands-on experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, and other performance testing tools.

Familiarity with BDD and TDD practices.

Experience in testing APIs and developing automation around in-house web services.

Excellent understanding of AWS cloud services and architecture.

Ability to write clear, maintainable, and reusable automated tests.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering with a focus on automation.

Proven experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Background working with cloud-native applications, particularly those hosted on AWS.

Previous work with enterprise-level in-house products is highly preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

AWS Certification is a must.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
