Location: Fort Worth, TX (100% Onsite)

Work Schedule: 1st Shift

Visa Status: U.S. Citizens (USC) only

Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Job Description:

System Safety Engineer – FLRAA

We are seeking experienced and highly skilled System Safety Engineers to support a high-priority defense aviation program. This is a 100% onsite position in Fort Worth, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

Support system safety engineering activities across the full software/system development lifecycle.

Perform detailed safety analyses using both civil and defense methodologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance with all safety standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

Software/System Safety Expertise:

Proven experience with safety standards such as DO-178C, MIL-STD-882, AMCOM385-17, and Joint Software Safety Engineering Handbook.

Full lifecycle experience from hazard identification to system/software qualification testing.

Civil Safety Process (SAE ARP4761):

Aircraft/System Functional Hazard Assessments (AFHA/SFHA)

Preliminary/System Safety Assessments (PASA/PSSA)

System Safety Assessments (ASA/SSA)

Particular Risk Analysis (PRA)

Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA)

Common Mode Analysis (CMA)

Defense Safety Process (MIL-STD-882):

Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA)

Operational & Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA)

System/Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SHA/SSHA)

Health Hazard Analysis (HHA)

Hazardous Materials Analysis

Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

Safety Assessment Report (SAR)

Desirable Skills:

Familiarity with SAE ARP-4754

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Safety Analysis (MBSA)

Strong understanding of aircraft and aircraft system operations

Prior experience in military/commercial aircraft development or sustainment

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) required

Relevant military aviation experience (e.g., rotorcraft/powered lift aviator or mechanic) may be considered in lieu of formal degree

Advanced degrees considered as additional experience

Minimum 2 years of experience on safety-driven development/sustainment programs
