Job Summary

The Molding Manager is a multi functional leadership role responsible for overseeing the molding department operations, maintaining facility systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role combines technical expertise, operational leadership, and regulatory compliance to ensure optimal performance, safety, and sustainability across all plant functions.

Job Duties

Essential Functions

Molding Operations Management:

Developing processes using scientific molding principles.

Plan, coordinate, and manage daily molding operations to meet production targets.

Supervise molding technicians and operators; provide training and performance evaluations.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with molds, machines, and equipment.

Monitor quality control processes to ensure molded parts meet specifications.

Optimize cycle times, reduce scrap, and improve machine efficiency.

Collaborate with engineering and quality departments for continuous improvement.

Facilities Management:

Oversee maintenance of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and utilities.

Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs.

Manage contracts and relationships with external facility service providers.

Coordinate equipment installation, relocations, or upgrades.

Maintain facility layout and ensure efficient workspace organization.

Safety & Environmental Compliance:

Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.

Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Maintain MSDS documentation and hazardous material inventories.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations including waste disposal and emissions.

Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Job Specifications

· Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering Technology's, Industrial Engineering Management, Occupational Safety, or related field (preferred).

· 5+ years' experience in injection molding operations with supervisory responsibilities.

· Knowledge of facilities systems, preventive maintenance, and building codes.

· Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.

· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.

· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Ability to multitask and manage priorities across departments.

Physical Specifications

Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times

Standing for extended periods on hard surfaces

Regular physical movement and exertion

Constant movement; up/down from sitting position as well as and walking
