Summary

Weris, Inc., is seeking a Traffic Simulation Modeler to support the development and implementation of traffic modeling and pricing strategies for express lane and tolling projects. This role involves building and calibrating traffic simulation models, integrating dynamic pricing algorithms, analyzing traffic data, and conducting scenario-based evaluations to optimize tolling performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Develop, implement, and calibrate microsimulation models for express lanes and toll corridors.

· Integrate and test dynamic pricing algorithms within the traffic simulation model.

· Perform pre- and post-deployment assessments of pricing strategies and recommend algorithm modifications based on observed traffic patterns.

· Summarize simulation results, including key performance indicators such as travel time, vehicle occupancy, and speed distributions.

· Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

· Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.

· Experience: 1-2 years of experience in traffic modeling, algorithm development, or toll pricing strategies.

· Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in traffic simulation software such as VISSIM, TransModeler, Aimsun, or similar tools.

· Experience with dynamic pricing models.

· Knowledge of statistical modeling, traffic demand forecasting, and optimization techniques.

· Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, R, or SQL for data analysis and algorithm tuning are a plus.

· Soft Skills:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly.

· Ability to manage time effectively and work in a deadline-driven environment.

· Experience working with state transportation agencies, tolling authorities, or public infrastructure projects is preferred.
