We are a large and growing emergency and specialty hospital located in beautiful Portland, Maine. Our facility is home to board-certified experts in Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology.

What You’ll Do
As a Veterinary Technician in Cardiology, you’ll work closely with our cardiologist to support both outpatient and inpatient care. This role involves technical, diagnostic, and client-focused responsibilities that directly contribute to high-quality outcomes for patients with complex cardiac conditions.
In this role, you will:
Administer PO, IM, SC, and IV medications
Collect and prepare blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples
Accurately calculate and administer medications, monitoring for adverse reactions
Position and capture diagnostic radiographs, ECGs, and echocardiograms
Monitor patients pre-, during, and post-anesthesia; perform intubation as needed
Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment
Record and manage controlled substance logs
Assist with case follow-up, patient updates, and client communication
Participate in team rounds, treatment coordination, and patient flow management
Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position
Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, final schedule to be discussed during interview process
Some holidays are required
Compensation
Starting at $28/hr, commensurate with experience and licensure
up to $2,5000 sign on bonus, commensurate with experience and licensure

Requirements
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) or an experienced veterinary technician with cardiology knowledge
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfort working with advanced diagnostics, imaging, and anesthetic monitoring
A compassionate, patient-centered mindset
Ability to work well in a team and support a fast-paced, specialty environment
