Basic Function
The Multimedia Producer is a member of the Brand & Creative Services team, responsible for internal and external audiovisual communications within the corporate communication function. This role works very closely with the Content & Social Media team and is responsible for building collaborative relationships within the company to grow and build innovative audiovisual communication materials. The position will lead the team that assists in production of video and multimedia materials, both internally and externally, spanning all business functions and product lines of LyondellBasell globally.
This position requires broad-based expertise in video and multimedia production, comprehensive knowledge of trends in content development and corporate communications, as well as a solid understanding of the corporation’s strategic objectives.
As a trusted business partner for multiple internal clients, this individual must manage multiple projects and interact professionally and appropriately with Corporate Affairs counterparts, as well as executives and others inside and outside the Company. This position works directly with senior leaders of the company on a regular basis.
This is a strategic leadership role with a full-time direct report and reports to the Sr. Manager, Creative Services. This position is located at the LyondellBasell Houston headquarters.
Roles & Responsibilities
Specific
Responsible for internal and external video communications within the corporate communication function
Leads and fosters an environment for content creation and visual storytelling for LyondellBasell
Provides counsel on LyondellBasell branding to third parties
Schedules, manages, and directs production crew
Provides technical expertise during production
Manages the completion of the single multimedia story, including editing and final documentation
Plans and develops a single multimedia story: researches and develops ideas and budgets; writes scripts; schedules interviews, hosts, and facilities; recruits talent; designs sets.
Produces a single multimedia story: conducts interviews; manages talent; may serve as editor, videographer, and/or audio/lighting specialist.
Post-produces a multimedia story: edits
Provides training and direction to the production staff, including interns and volunteers.
Participates in the design of video graphics, titles, music, and creative look of shows; makes editorial decisions regarding assembly of information, illustrations, and content.
May assist in repair and upkeep of studio and production sets and properties.
May evaluate new audio/visual equipment and direct the installation and interfacing of new equipment in production facilities and classrooms.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
General
Understanding of corporate communications operating within a Corporate Affairs department
Generates ideas and creates content for various internal and external communications channels (e.g. Elements, LYB.com, social media and LYB content hub)
Partner with the Corporate Communications team in both content and visual storytelling for LyondellBasell through a broad array of communication assets
Ensures the alignment and information sharing among the Corporate Affairs team about new messaging, resources, upcoming events/activities, etc.
Act as a trusted advisor for multiple clients, acting as the first line of contact for communications with assigned clients and/or external stakeholders
Understand and anticipate the vision of senior management and clients / external stakeholders
Serve as a project owner, executing campaigns and projects as assigned with a degree of skill and professionalism
Takes initiative to think several steps ahead and anticipates the needs of clients / stakeholders and management
Creates and maintains communications resources and toolkits
Communicates proactively with Corporate Affairs, business colleagues and functional teams on upcoming communications to ensure awareness and alignment among all stakeholders
Represents the company with the utmost integrity and abides by the LyondellBasell Code of Conduct
Reviews and edits documents and language from other functional areas where applicable (e.g., external, marketing communications, internal) for accuracy and consistency
Actively participates and communications new ideas, innovative methods and/or tools to communications leadership team
Implement metrics systems and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to benchmark team progress and success of communications initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement
Partner with in-house design team to execute creative concepts in alignment with overarching corporate messaging and brand standards
Attend and/or lead group and client meetings as requested
Responsible for responding and/or escalating client / stakeholder requests for support and follow through to close out

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field
Work Experience
Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience; 3 years of relative experience
Post-qualification experience in a communications-related field with strong writing, verbal and presentation skills.
Prior corporate communications experience working across functional teams and with business leaders on complex projects.
Chemical industry or similar experience is preferred plus.
Experience in Issues Management communications is preferred
Agency experience is a plus.
Knowledge of AP style preferred.
Languages English; additional languages a plus
