Department: Professional Services

Location: based in Norfolk, VA or San Diego, CA, and must be willing and able to travel

Reports To: Program Manager

Position Summary:

The Technical Project Manager will lead the onsite execution of shipboard technology projects for U.S. Navy customers within the Department of Defense. This role owns the full project delivery lifecycle, driving the deployment of next-generation capabilities such as wireless infrastructure and hyperconverged systems aboard Navy vessels. Responsibilities include managing site surveys, assessing ship readiness, coordinating equipment logistics, overseeing vendor activities, scheduling deployments, allocating resources, and ensuring effective issue resolution and stakeholder communication. Success in this position requires strong technical acumen, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead complex, multi-faceted deployments in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is based in Norfolk, VA or San Diego, CA, and must be willing and able to travel and work onboard Navy ships as required. A current U.S. Government-issued security clearance is mandatory.

What you’ll do:

Provide technical and project execution to a fast-moving program at various locations, both CONUS and OCONUS

Manage the full implementation to include site surveys, modifications, equipment ordering and delivery, system installation, transition, and problem resolution.

Be the Technical Point of Contact for the entire program.

Provide oversite to other team members, vendors, and subcontractors.

Work within a combined vendor team to resolve issues and keep delivery on schedule.

Up to 75% travel to various locations (CONUS and OCONUS) as needed.

What you’ll bring:

5–7 years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of leading and executing technical projects within the Department of Defense (DoD).

Demonstrated experience as a Technical Project Manager or Technical Program Manager.

Experience leading high-performing teams and individuals.

Shipboard experience, with a solid understanding of shipboard power and systems.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges.

Bachelor’s degree (BS) or higher in a technical field.

Must possess, at a minimum, a current Secret-level security clearance issued by the U.S. Government; Top Secret clearance preferred.

Must be able to obtain a DoD-issued ID card.
