JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Extension, Westmoreland County, is seeking applicants for a part-time Equine 4-H Program Assistant.
Job duties to include:
Prepare and communicate necessary horse information to volunteers and members.
Prepare the agenda and attend monthly Adult Horse Leader Meetings.
Attend Junior Horse Show Committee meetings.
Prepare Westmoreland Fairgrounds for Horse events, including county shows, clinics, District Show, and other events.
Coordinate and communicate with members, as well as Cloverbud evaluation and testing, Measuring Clinic, and Horsemanship Testing Schedules.
Assist with the Indiana County Round-Up to be held at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds.
Complete paperwork for shows, including entry forms, show bills, pattern booklets, fairground rental, and other items as needed.
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
The ability to work independently
Strong communication skills and the ability to plan activities and educational programs.
Able to carry equipment, educational materials, and supplies, with or without accommodation.
Must be willing to work flexible hours
Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is $18.00.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
