Specialty Job Functions
Responsible for scheduling of work assignments, including Nurses, Therapists, Caseworkers, Behavioral Health Technicians
Coordinate Training and Orientation of newly hired staff
Assign preceptors
Track orientation checklist
Ensure that all necessary documentation is in place and sent to HR
Assess individual competencies to complete orientation process
Develops yearly competencies, ensure completion and tracks
Coaches employees and acts a clinical resource
Coordinate yearly learning needs assessments
Ensures that all required training is completed, schedules and tracks
Identifies areas of study or assessment
Monitors PI process to ensure that it is being completed thoroughly and regularly
Identifies areas of deficiency and coaches employees involved
Identifies areas where remedial or additional training is needed
Identifies areas for process improvement
Acts as liaison to several departments including, Emergency Department, Inpatient Unit, Outpatient Services, Physicians, Westmoreland County BH/DS
Sets agenda and conducts monthly staff meetings
Ensures that attendance is tracked
Ensures that minutes are recorded
Ensures that Daily CI meetings take place
Prepares for Program Reviews and Licensing for OMHSAS and Westmoreland County BH/DS
Participates in Hiring of New Employees
Participates in yearly performance evaluation for CRC staff members
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in counseling, Psychology or another related field.
One (1) to Three (3) years supervisory/management experience
Three (3) to Five (5) years of clinical experience in related healthcare field
Basic Math and Keyboard Proficiency.
Knowledge of Payor/Insurance Benefits
Proficient Spelling Skills
Functional Skills on PC and Related Software (Microsoft Office, including Outlook)
Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and various software programs
Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Licensure (LPC, LMFT, LSW, LCSW)
License, Certification & Clearances
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required.
Act 33 with renewal

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Management responsibilities include hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, staff productivity and performance management.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
Travel may be expected locally between Independence Health locations.
