Actalent is currently seeking a qualified Structural Drafter for a position in Phoenix, AZ. In this position you will prepare structural and electrical drawings for energy infrastructure projects. Collaborating with engineers and consultants, you will create detailed drawings for high voltage equipment, structures, foundations, and electrical schematics. You will play a vital role in planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, and the preparation of reports, specifications, and construction documentation.
Responsibilities
Perform CAD drafting of all engineering products and deliverables.
Collaborate with engineers and other drafters to correct discrepancies in drawings and designs.
Draft substation layout, sections, structural and foundation details, bill of materials, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Update documentation including checklists, drawing lists, conduit schedules, and circuit schedules using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Self-check all work performed for accuracy before submitting for review.
Understand and meet project schedule and quality requirements.
Complete drawings accurately and efficiently.
Maintain flexibility to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Assist in project delivery, including communication, attending meetings, and managing project documents.
Provide interdepartmental support as needed.
Essential Skills
Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications for engineering drawings.
Basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.
Understanding of protection and controls (P&C).
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar
Knowledge of substation vernacular.
Competence in fundamental concepts of engineering disciplines.
Capability to operate related discipline design software.
Collaborative work skills in a multi-discipline project team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Microstation, Revit, and Inventor.
Understanding of terms like base mapping and right of way.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
