Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and support a Workday Payroll implementation. This role will coordinate stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of payroll system configuration, testing, and go-live. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in Workday HCM/Payroll implementations and excels at cross-functional communication, risk management, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end implementation of Workday Payroll, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams (HR, Payroll, IT, Finance) and external Workday consultants.
Develop detailed project plans, track progress, and manage scope, budget, and risks.
Facilitate requirements gathering, system design validation, and configuration approvals.
Manage testing cycles including UAT, parallel testing, and issue resolution.
Coordinate data conversion and system integrations, ensuring clean handoff to post-go-live support.
Drive project governance through regular status updates, stakeholder reporting, and executive communication.
Ensure readiness for go-live including user training, documentation, and contingency planning.
10+ years of project management experience, with 2+ years supporting Workday Payroll or broader Workday HCM/Finance implementations.
Strong knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and system integrations.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
PMP or other project management certification preferred.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in fast-paced or complex environments (e.g., multi-state or global payroll) is a plus.
