Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Allergy
Job Type: Part-time & Full Time
Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner – Allergy will provide expert care for patients with allergic conditions, including seasonal allergies, asthma, eczema, and food/environmental sensitivities. The role involves evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, patient education, and follow-up care, under established protocols and in collaboration with our supervising physicians.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive allergy assessments, including patient history and physical examination.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic allergic conditions (e.g., rhinitis, asthma, urticaria, anaphylaxis).
Order and interpret allergy testing (skin, blood, spirometry, etc.).
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including allergen immunotherapy.
Provide education and counseling to patients and families on allergen avoidance, medication usage, and lifestyle management.
Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
Qualifications
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
National certification as an NP (FNP, ANP, or equivalent) – specialization or experience in Allergy/Immunology strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience as an NP, with at least 1 year in allergy or related fields preferred.
BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.
