Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage a variety of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of financial systems and processes and be comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are documented and compliant with financial regulations.
• Assist in managing grant-related financial activities, including tracking expenses and preparing reports.
• Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial operations and reporting.
• Prepare and review invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely billing.
• Conduct regular audits to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Generate and analyze financial reports to support decision-making and strategy development.
• Ensure accurate payroll processing using ADP financial services.
• Support other accounting tasks as needed to meet organizational goals.• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
• Familiarity with ADP financial services and payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including auditing and billing.
• Experience in managing grant-related financial tasks is highly desirable.
• Ability to generate and interpret financial reports accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Workday or similar financial management systems is a plus.
