Job Title: Solar O&M Field Technician

Location: (Lowell / Billerica, MA/Amherst, MA/Pittsfield, MA/Plymouth, MA/Attleboro, MA)

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar O&M Field Technician to join our operations and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on residential, commercial, or utility-scale solar PV systems. This role requires hands-on fieldwork, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on solar PV systems, including cleaning, inspection, and testing.

Troubleshoot and repair faults in solar arrays, inverters, and monitoring equipment.

Conduct site inspections, performance evaluations, and system diagnostics.

Monitor system performance and ensure optimal system uptime.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, site conditions, and work performed.

Respond to emergency service requests and outages.

Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and fall protection.

Collaborate with engineers, support teams, and customers to resolve complex issues.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.

Use monitoring platforms and tools to analyze system performance and generate reports.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.

2+ years of experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, or related electrical work.

Familiarity with solar PV components, inverters, and monitoring systems (e.g., Enphase, SolarEdge, SMA).

Knowledge of NEC codes and OSHA safety practices.

Ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and software platforms for troubleshooting.

Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability to work independently and travel to various field locations.

Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
