Job Description

The Assistant Sales Manager’s primary responsibility is to effectively inspire, motivate and manage our sales team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and sales. They are responsible for attractively merchandising product and making sure that all shelves and fixtures are stocked appropriately. The assistant manager is expected to set an example by following corporate policies and providing excellent customer service.

Reflect, enforce, and constantly reiterate the 23 Service Standards of The Tiger Sports Shop

Actively engage with customers as they enter the store.

Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and product information as needed.

Open, close, process store deposit after training period.

Stay up to date on existing and new product information.

Become proficient with TSS POS system and processes.

Utilize POS to create needed reports and transfers, and to research any customer questions or needs.

Delegate tasks effectively and follow up.

Train, motivate and manage sales team.

Ensure sales floor displays and featured items are fresh for events and season change.

Fold, price, hang, and/or attractively display merchandise.

Ensure sales floor is fully stocked at all times.

Ensure that all areas of sales floor are neat and clean.

Be proactive in notifying appropriate manager of any maintenance issues.

Communicate problems and areas of concern to management team.

Be proactive to inform management of low inventories and other store supply needs.

Inform management of unfulfilled customer requests.

Any other duties as requested.

· Assist with receiving product inventory. Assists the Store Manager in a variety of tasks including:

· Delegation of work and team motivation.

· Training and mentoring.

· Safety and policy adherence.

· Opening and closing procedures.

· Problem and conflict resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 18 years of age.

Minimum of 1 year prior retail store management experience required.

Must have working knowledge of internet software usage and basic computer software.

Must have demonstrated leadership skills.

Must be a people person.

Must be dependable, trustworthy, and meticulous.

Must have a sense of urgency.

Knowledge of POS software helpful.

HOURS

Full time position (34-50 hours per week).

Must be available to work

8:00AM – 9:00PM Monday through Sunday and occasionally extended hours

Some overtime may be required (over 40 hours a week paid at time and a half).

Must be available to work all Saturdays and some Sundays and all Clemson home football game weekends
