We are seeking an individual who is passionate about leading a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.

The Production Shift Supervisor reports to the Production Manager. This position is responsible for supervising the personnel on the assigned shift to ensure optimum performance levels in respect of safety, quality, housekeeping, training and productivity. This position is responsible for ensuring that all employees are working safely and that the quality standards are being completed and documented according to the shop floor documents.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Leads a team which includes around 20-50 employees with the help of another shift supervisor.

Complete yearly performance reviews with regular check-ins throughout the year.

Manage PTO requests, time, attendance, etc. of the personnel on shift.

Ensures employees are properly trained and verified on the job.

Assists HR in conflict resolution and disciplinary actions as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently ensure accountability for Safety, quality, production, and performance, on their shift.

Work with maintenance to minimize downtime on shift.

Run the lines at the expected run rates.

Perform CMR Process.

Assist the process technician with color matching and correcting off colors that may occur on shift.

In the absence of the process tech, the shift supervisor is responsible for all color matching responsibilities.

Provide leadership to production staff on issues that may arise.

Ensure that quality inspections are completed according to the shop floor documents by the production crews. Complete MRB tag for anything outside of customer specification.

Use Lean Six Sigma methods and tools to manage the business and improve performance

Partner with other Shift Supervisor to optimize productivity, address bottlenecks and ensure efficiencies.

Partner with other Production Shift Supervisors and other functions for all subjective issues on shift.

Review production data in SAP system and make necessary changes.

Assure accuracy of Shop Floor Documents and submit Change Requests if necessary.

Meet with Quality Manager, review any quality complaints and returns and communicate to the production crews.

Conduct daily performance board meetings with all hourly personnel.

Train employees using the Jobs skills training and verification process to assure they are proficient.

Communicate critical information to shift personnel on current or upcoming production.

Complete root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventative actions for safety/quality related issues.

Ensure that housekeeping and 5S standards are adhered to.

Manage all inventory ensuring transactional accuracy.

Ensure overtime sheet is updated daily on the shift due to call offs and vacation.

Hand out inspection sheets for cranes and tow motors.

Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Availability to work all shifts on a rotating schedule

Exceptional demonstrated leadership skills required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Works well independently and in team environment

Strong PC skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Office)

Ability to motivate and coach employees

Overtime is mandatory if shift is scheduled on weekends or coverage is needed for sick time or vacation of other shift supervisors

Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is preferred

Education and Experience:

Minimum high school degree/GED required

Associates degree in management, engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferred.

3 years of experience in a supervisory role

2 years of experience in a manufacturing role

Physical Requirements:

Rotates/Swing Shift; ability to work Saturday’s and Sunday’s as needed.

Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds as needed.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment.

Comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc. Travel Requirements:

Time spent away from home or typical office location.
