Position: Tool & Die Toolmaker III
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay Rate: $33 + Depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire (for highly qualified candidates)
Shift Options:
1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
2nd Shift: Available as an option
Overtime: Available and optional
Training may occur on 1st shift prior to moving to 2nd shift if needed
Position Summary:
A precision metal manufacturing company is seeking a Tool & Die Toolmaker III with at least 6 years of hands-on experience in tool and die making. The ideal candidate will have experience with semi-permanent dies, layout work, and proficiency in short-run stamping and progressive die operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, construct, and repair a wide range of intricate tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to extremely close tolerances.
Perform complex development work and fabricate tools without pre-existing designs.
Select allowances and develop mechanical details.
Execute high-precision fitting, adjusting, and timing of tools and machines.
Handle multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies, sub-press dies, and complex indexing milling fixtures.
Operate all standard tool room equipment, including CAD/KEY systems, CNC lathes, and emerging technologies.
Interpret complex technical drawings and sketches.
Utilize advanced shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments.
Demonstrate high-level trade skills and thorough knowledge of machining practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must own or be willing to purchase necessary hand and inspection tools upon hiring.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of toolmaking experience
Expertise in progressive die tooling
Certificate or degree in CNC / Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent)

Additional Details:
The facility operates two shifts:
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – Midnight
Training typically begins on 1st shift; employees may transition to 2nd shift after training.
A $1.00/hour shift differential is provided for 2nd shift.
Overtime may be required
