Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor (Full-Time, On-Site)

Location: Norfolk, VA (Hampton Roads Area)

Pay: $28.00 – $31.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day or Evening Shift, No Weekends

About the Role

We are actively seeking a full-time Substance Abuse Counselor to join our clinical team on-site. In this role, you will provide direct care, facilitate group and individual sessions, create individualized treatment plans, and guide clients through their recovery journey in collaboration with a supportive, mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct biopsychosocial and substance use assessments

Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions

Develop and implement personalized treatment and relapse prevention plans

Collaborate with case managers, peer support, and clinical leadership

Maintain timely and accurate documentation

Support clients with co-occurring mental health challenges

Qualifications

Required: CSAC, CSAC-A, QMHP-A, or related Virginia license or certification

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field

Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, mental health, and relapse prevention

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Experience in an outpatient or group treatment setting (preferred)

Additional Details

Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Norfolk, VA 23517 before starting work

Hours are capped at 40 per week – no weekend shifts
