Job Description

We are looking for a General Ledger Accounting Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. This position is responsible for managing the organizations general ledger functions and maintaining strong internal controls to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards. This role will also oversee brokerage and direct investing activities, ensuring proper accounting and reconciliation. This position will provide leadership and development opportunities to the general ledger accounting team.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL LEDGER MANAGEMENT: Overseeing daily general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and leading the month-end/ year end close processes. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

INTERNAL CONTROLS; Develop, implement, maintain, and make recommendations to improve internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial records and reporting. This may involve conducting periodic audits and assessments.

BROKERAGE INVESTING ACTIVITIES Understand brokerage investing activities of the company and manage proper accounting including reconciling to broker statements.

DIRECT INVESTING ACTIVITIES; Understand direct investing activities of the company and manage proper accounting.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Identifying opportunities to streamline general ledger processes and systems, improve efficiency, and enhance controls to ensure accuracy and financial integrity. Implementing best practices and recommending changes to optimize financial operations.

TEAM LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT.

SYSTEM MANAGEMENT.

COMPLIANCE AND POLICY

AD HOC PROJECTS

Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets

Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements

Create new processes to improve financial efficiency

Report analysis and findings to management team

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards.

Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately

Fundamental knowledge of GAAP

Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools

Detail and deadline-oriented

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA preferred

5-10 years of experience in accounting and/or reporting field
