CTR Group is seeking an Engineering Manager for an Aerospace Company in the Richmond, VA area. An urgent position and great career opportunity!
SUMMARY:
The Engineering manager provides management services in Aerospace engineering design, configuration management, and will be responsible for entire project cycle from design/development, qualification testing through project completion.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and lead vision for engineering department in accordance with company goals.
Manage the engineering team in a manner that supports teamwork and development.
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include preliminary design, calculation, life-cycle cost and equipment selection.
Conduct surveys to gather field data.
Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
Prepare, review, and approve internal technical specifications and test reports.
Review, critique, and approve proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
Coordinate the activities between the design and manufacturing teams.
Authority to determine disposition of non-conforming product in accordance with quality management system.
Serve on planning and policy-making committees.
Review, update, and approve engineering related quality policies in accordance with AS9100 and support accreditation audits as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (at minimum) and three to five years of Aerospace engineering experience.
Exceptional management and project management execution skills.
Advanced math abilities, advanced 2D/3D design software proficiency.
The ability to understand "abstract" principles behind math and physics are required.
Working knowledge of engineering CAD/CAM tools used in the aerospace industry.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Work requires travel between company locations and customers in USA and occasional international travel to customers when required during project execution.
Work will require occasional evening and weekend work and management.
