Job Title: Solar Installation Supervisor (Streetlights)

Reports To: Director of Operations

Location: Zephyrhills and Tampa

Job Type: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Travel: Frequent travel to project sites

Salary: $26-$27 an hour

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Solar Street Light Installation Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the installation of solar-powered street lighting systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in solar energy systems, electrical installations, and team leadership. The role involves supervising installation teams, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality control, and managing project timelines efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the installation of solar streetlights at various project sites.

Lead and train installation teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.

Ensure all installations comply with construction safety regulations.

Inspect and test solar lighting systems to verify proper operation.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during installation.

Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials needed for projects.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.

Prepare progress reports and document installation processes.

Ensure adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.

Implement and enforce workplace health and safety procedures.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in lighting installation or a similar role.

Must have CDL

Knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, batteries, LED lighting, and wiring.

Experience in supervising field teams (2-4 people) and managing site operations.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel to different project locations.

General Contractor’s license is preferred.

Certification/Knowledge in solar energy installation is a plus.

Experience with project management tools and reporting preferred.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Self-sufficient with the ability to solve unique problems creatively.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proactively identifies issues and takes steps to resolve them.

Work Environment:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy equipment or materials.

Predominantly conducted outdoors, subject to varying weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain).

Regular travel to different job sites or client locations is necessary.

Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to meet project deadlines.

Adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory.

Interaction with diverse teams, including contractors, engineers, and clients, to ensure project goals are met.

Utilization of specialized tools and equipment related to the job function.

Adaptability to unexpected challenges and ability to troubleshoot on-site issues effectively.
