Job Description
Civil Jr. Estimator, working under a more experienced estimator, will typically be responsible for tasks like quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and bid preparation, often focusing on civil construction projects like roads, bridges, or utilities. They may also assist with subcontractor pricing, bid analysis, and project scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Quantity Take-offs:

Accurately measuring and calculating quantities of materials and labor needed for a project based on blueprints and specifications.
Cost Analysis:

Researching and analyzing material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor prices to determine project costs.
Bid Preparation:

Creating bid proposals, often using specialized software like HCSS HeavyBid, Bi2 Winor and submitting them to clients or contractors.
Subcontractor Pricing:

Soliciting bids and gathering pricing information from subcontractors and vendors.
Project Scheduling:

Assisting in creating preliminary project schedules.
Communication:

Working with project managers, architects, and other engineers to gather information and ensure accurate cost estimates.
Software Proficiency:

Using construction estimating software, CAD / Agtek software and project management software (like Primavera P6 or MS Project).
Bid Management:
