Position Overview:
A leading MEP contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety policies across construction sites in the Dulles, VA market. The Safety Manager will work closely with the Division Safety Manager and leadership to ensure compliance with company, state, and OSHA regulations while maintaining a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identifying and addressing hazards to maintain OSHA and company safety standards.
Document safety inspections and recommend corrective actions with strict adherence to timelines for implementation.
Maintain site documentation related to safety, including accident reports, inspection logs, and training records, and use the data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Develop and facilitate employee safety training programs, ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for safe job performance.
Direct and oversee less-experienced safety team members and provide guidance on safety procedures and enforcement.
Collaborate with project management and operations teams to integrate safety protocols into project planning and execution.
Lead disciplinary action processes related to safety violations, in consultation with senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences, or related discipline preferred.
7-10 years of experience in construction safety management, with a focus on MEP, industrial, or commercial projects.
Experience in safety management in the semiconductor industry is strongly preferred.
OSHA 10, 30, or 40-hour training required. OSHA 500, CHST, or ASP certifications are a plus.
Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards and state construction safety regulations.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to enforce safety protocols effectively.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
