A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Controls and Electrical Drafting Engineer in Houston, TX.
The Controls and Electrical Drafting Engineer will be working for a global energy leader and contributing to critical engineering projects involving control system upgrades and cabinet design. This is a full-time, onsite position with long-term potential.

Controls and Electrical Drafting Engineer Compensation
• The pay for this position is $40.00 per hour
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Position Highlights
• This position is a contract assignment with potential to be extended beyond 13 weeks based on business needs
• 1st shift – Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (flexible, with potential for remote work on Fridays)
• Onsite in Houston, TX – 1200 W. Sam Houston Parkway N.
• Immediate need – new role, not a backfill
Job Responsibilities
• Develop standard Siemens Energy drawings using AutoCAD Electrical for control panels, BOMs, and assembly diagrams
• Draft cabinet schematics, power distribution layouts, system architecture diagrams, and control system layouts
• Build and maintain standard AutoCAD Electrical templates, databases, and catalog content
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop documentation for gas turbine control system retrofits
• Support troubleshooting and documentation updates for control components and connectivity
• Manage drafting automation and scripting within AutoCAD Electrical
• Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements across the drafting team
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering — or at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience using AutoCAD Electrical in an engineering environment
• Hands-on experience drafting control panel schematics, layouts, and I/O wiring diagrams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and team collaboration abilities
• High attention to detail and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Understanding of industrial control systems and cabinet/panel design
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Rockwell ControlLogix and Flex I/O systems
• Exposure to Siemens Team Center
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Familiarity with turbocompressor systems
• Experience with Bentley Nevada, Det-Tronics Fire & Gas, Woodward MicroNet, and CCC systems
